Scientific content
- Overview of Nordic registries (variables, laws, regulations, and more)
- Methodology for registry research (designs, minimizing bias, and more)
- Management of registry data (sources of errors, merging data, and more)
- Practical examples and exercises (conducting analyses, access to data, writing protocols, and more)
Prerequisits
Basic knowledge about the following is required:
- Statistics (including linear regression, logistic regression, Cox regression, …)
- Epidemiology (including causal inference, bias, …)
- Programming (preferably R, Stata or SAS)
About the course
- Open for a total of 20 Nordic PhD students
- No registration fee
- Accommodation and travel expenses included
- Participation in all classes is mandatory, and participants must submit a home assignment before the start of the second week. This assignment will be presented during this week.
Selection criteria
If there are more than twenty applicants to the course, the following criteria will be used to select course participants:
- Nationality of research institution
- Background
- Research project
- Gender distribution among participants.
